Essential Gear - EGIS
We started in 2019. Jakarta. A city that tests everything you carry.
Coming from the industrial product design background, we saw the same compromise in every bag on the shelf: Form without function, or function without form. So we built our own.
One vision. Local production. A stack of fabric and a refusal to accept the bag as it was sold. Industrial design taught structure. Jakarta taught consequence. Rain and heat. Load. Distance.
Essential Gear ID is a small bag studio. We design, cut, stitch and finish in-house. Small batches. Balance in form and function.
Every piece is a system. Modular. Weatherproof. Made to be added to, taken apart, repaired and carried again. A 10L messenger bag for the commute. A MOLLE laptop sleeve that locks into the architecture. A covert chest pouch for what stays close.
We aim to build gears that are essential, the things you keep, not the things you replace. The range grows by function.
